I have a follow up with my regular doc today for the shoulder. I've had a sling on from the urgent care of last week. Looking in the mirror I can see a large baseball sized lump on top of the shoulder. Just touching it sends waves of white-hot pain from neck to hand. Haven't been able to sleep for over a week now. Never felt pain like this before. Even heart surgery pain was a breeze compared to this.
I didn't get the coop closed up last night. It was nice thunderstorm going on and I didn't go out. So of course there was a ruckus in the coop around 4:00 am. A nice big opossum was dining at the feeder. Hens didn't like sharing. Anyway, I took the feeder out and Mr. Possum followed me out of the coop. No further trouble occurred. That is the first wildlife encounter I've had all spring/summer.
Just goes to show that I have a lot of chores before the real cold weather sets in. I just need to get healthy in order to get stuff done. This solitary life is taking a toll on these old bones.
