Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

My current chickies are also 4 weeks old. This morning the big guys were out in the pen crowing, and inside one of my little Araucana chicks was squeaking a reply back. Is it really possible that at only 4 weeks, it is trying to crow?? I have already seen some 'boy' behavior in this one, but, wow, is it really possible??

Yes!

HELP!!! My sons Jersey Giants are dying one at a time. First it was one of his pullets then another a week or so later now its been less then two months and his beautiul black young roo is dying of what I don't know. They just are listless and within 24 hours are gone. All the other chickens so far are great but so were they. Its just strange that they are all Giants.

Kimmie

Have you wormed them? If not I would worm everybody. 3cc/gallon of water of the safeguard for goats for 3 days, wait 14 days and do it again, wait 14 days and use ivermectin pour on (about 1/2 cc per bird) put it where they can't reach it should get everything. If anyone has a better plan, Please speak up.

Let my chickens out of the run today for the first time. (7 months old) And as soon as they got to the veggie garden an eagle flies over head and keeps circling.

After the fact DH says "oh yeah I seen it earlier" I'd of never let them out in the first place if I'd known that. So I

sat on the swing seat and kept an eye on them until it flew some where else.

Beautiful eggs!!! Takes a lot of talent and patience to that to a lil egg.

I worry about hawks and you got eagles.

That would have me worried!

Haven't read to catch up but...

I wish I had the video camera out today. My son was zipping by on the 4 wheeler and I see he has Buzz the showgirl roo in the crook of his arm. The wind had all of Buzz's crest feathers blown back and he looked to be enjoying himself, not scared at all.

I made my son put him down but it was adorable. My son says " But mom Buzz loves to go fast". Kids!
