BYC was down....hmmmm didn't know cause I wasn't on. lol

I got all my errands done this morning and was back by noon!! Stopped to TSC & picked up Blue Kote for my hens little dog inflicted abrasion. I got the type that's applied with a sponge dapper. The guy at the store thought the spray might startle the hen and be messy and since it's for a small spot the dapper applicator would be best.

I can't decide......Instead of my mother purchasing Christmas gifts for all her children, grand children & great grand children I talked her into contributing to Heifer International. Can't decide if we should just purchase some chicken flocks or do a combo type thing like a couple of flocks and a goat, some chickens & a pig? I'm leaning toward the flocks & a goat. What do you guys think?

Wow, what a great idea! I've heard of it before but don't know that much about it. I like the combo of flocks and a goat or pig too. How expensive is it? Our family does a game instead of buying for everyone and with the game we generate money that we donate to a charity. This might be a great idea for our family too! I'll check it out online. Thanks for the idea!

I was having trouble connecting with the BYC site this afternoon, but I've been having so many problems with my computer I thought it was my PC, not the site.

I went to church then came home and worked outside for awhile, then did some house work. I sat down for a minute and fell asleep around 3:00! I NEVER take naps!! I woke up at 4:30 and ran out to see if the chickens who were free ranging were OK. I couldn't find them so looked in the coop and there they were, all 15, had put themselves to bed already. Good chickens. Now I won't be able to sleep all night.

I know how ya feel. I got home late yesterday to about an hour past dark. all the birds were running around like idiots. the last time I was surprised they all went in the coops and waited for me to shut them in. this time I had to get out a broom and chase them to bed.

Chickmate....It's reasonable. $20 for a flock of chicks or ducks. The goats, pigs & heifers are more but still affordable if you figure out what you spend on gifts$$$$$$. They have several different packages, you can also just buy a share if you'd like. I think were gonna go with the chickens and a goat....protein, eggs to eat & sell, and a supply of milk! What's great is that it helps the whole community for they share & sell the eggs for income, after the chickens multiply they give or sell the chicks to neighbors and the process repeats itself with each new hatching. This is one program where it benefits the whole community. It's a great organization.

I was shopping at the mall.

My bro-in-law is getting married in 3 weeks and we still had to get shoes, accessories, and a dress for my youngest. Chose the big mall in G.R., but they didn't have a great selection at all so had to go to the smaller mall. Came home with only half of what we needed.

I need to pick up my pace because I don't even have the gift yet and it's going to be here before we know it. I have to say this is getting very frustrating...

I was watching my x daughter in law get married in Hawaii via internet! I'm so glad she isn't my son's problem anymore. Hope this man makes her happy for the kid's sake, but I doubt any one can keep her happy for too long. But, I'll keep praying that she finds happiness.
Temps sure dropped today. Half way decent this morning but could feel it getting colder and colder as the day went on. My fingers were freezing by the time 3 o'clock came along.
good night, sleep tight....

chicken grandma- I know, I know. The problem is she's a ritzy kind of person and so are her friends. And the wedding and reception are high end (rec. at Meijer Gardens) so I don't want all of us to show up looking like a bunch of farmers...DH laughed at that, by the way, because guess what? We are!

Oh, had to add, I bought my first pair of 2inch high heels today and I think I have the way Morticia from the Addams Family walks down pat.
