Is that black one a turken?!?!?! I LOVE turkens and have thought about getting them but there doesn't seem to be a lot of them in michigan.

I sure didn't like seeing the snow flurries a little while ago. Doesn't Mother Nature know that tomorrow is the first day of spring?

I've got s speckled sussex that won't get out of the nest box so I placed her in a separate coop with 4 welsummer eggs. She wouldn't go into the coop. So I placed her back with the other birds and she immediately jumped into the nest box she has been occuping. So today I thought I would placed some shredded paper in the nest box to make it easier for her to keep the eggs centered under her. When I placed her back in the nest she immediately jumped out and went out into the run. A little latter I checked and she is now occuping a different nest box. I hope she gets things figured out soon. It would be nice if she would hatch and brood some chicks for me.

Here are the two little Serama chicks that I got out of the hatch last week.

They are smaller than a golf ball and a lot more fun, (IMO!)

Oh yeah I have to have some of those now. and some of those cute lil' banty's DH's mom likes smaller eggs, so it was easy to talk him into a few of those.

I just have to wait till they get big enough to tell whats boys and whats gals.

Just wanted to say Goodnight everyone. I have five chicks in my incubator

and at least four under my broodies!

Cathy, your pictures make me want to hatch out more seramas! Love them, they are so cute.

I built a make-shift fence up around an old rabbit hutch- but I didnt move my broody mamas yet. They are superglued down on the nest and the rest of the eggs- so perhaps I will do it in the morning before I go to work. I am just scared I am going to freak them out and they will abandon/kill the babies.

My mom came home from the hospital, they kept her nose packed, she is miserable- but her blood pressure is normal now with her medicine.
