Yeah, I'm really afraid of that.

. I would never just give them pellets.

If that happened so often then how would we have so many parakeets? Don't worry about it :)

Of course you shouldn't have your bird on a pellet only diet but only because you are denying your bird fresh food. A pellet only diet is much better than a seed only diet. They will love longer and be much healthier with pellets. I dont know where you heard that pellets are bad but every avian vet and reputable breeder will tell you to put pellets in your birds diet. As a matter of fact pellets alone can sustain all of a birds dietary needs. Here is a link to an article you should read about bird nutrition:

Seeds are way too fattening and many birds who are on seed only diets often develop fatty liver disease and are overweight. There life span is cut in half but of course birds live a very long time and a budgie on a seed only diet can live up to 8 years. My birds are fed fruit/veggie soft food for breakfast, pellets for lunch, and sprouted seeds veggie pellet mix for dinner. If your birds don't accept pellets just give them lots of fruit and veggies and that should make up for it.

No, birds are not known too get eggbound too often even when on seed only diets but what I was saying is that companion birds are more susceptible than poultry. Dont be afraid of breeding since I mentioned that. Budgies are super easy to breed. Just make sure you dont let your birds exceed more than 3 clutches per year or they will have higher chances of actually becoming eggbound.

As of my own two budgies, I live in california. The male is not very tame and the female is a lot more tame. She will eat from your hands and even step up if you coax her with food. The reason why I am rehoming is because I focus too much with my other larger parrots and these smaller ones dont get equal attention and my lovie is kinda jealous of the budgies.

Good Luck with your budgie adventures.

I don't think pellets are bad, if you get the right kind. How do you get budgies to eat veggies? I also want to cook them some noodles. I have whole grain noodles I bought just for them.

Also, if I annoyed you, I'm so sorry!

No not at all, you didnt annoy me. The trick I use to start birds on veggies is clipping them to different parts of the cage and letting their curiosity take over. If you budgies are tame you can pretend eat the food and then offer it, I know my birds love trying to eat what I eat.
