Mille Cochin Info

My roos always lose a lot of their white but my girls usually get more. Although while I am breeding out some lines this year it could change on me and I have only been breeding these colors for less than 18 mths so do not know as much as other folks.

I cull anything here that shows blue. I don't like that in my MFC project. It pops up every now and again but the roo is too special to discard so I stomp my foot and send it out the door. Typy or not.
I know others use some blue but I am not sure how it works in their programs.

Here is my pair of MFC. They are 8 months old. The hen is pretty pecked over from the roo so today I seperated them for a while.

The 5 chicks, three days old, are all yellow with just a tinge of red brown that is coming in darker each day.
I'll get some pics on here Saturday and will keep track of them with leg bands and photos, hopefully bi-weekly. They change so much.

On Ebay, not cheap; $7.00 for 100 but they have several small sizes and come in an assortment of several colors. They are rubber, are easily put on and can be cut off easily. Just got to be sure they don't get too tight as the chicks grow.

i have banded each of them with a different color and will track their progress with pictures. I have 11 more under a broody hen. They are due to hatch around the 28th. I wasn't expecting anything until atleast March.

Perhaps a silly question, but...
I love my Blue Cochin LF, and wonder if Mille Cochins come in LF size? Most of what I am seeing here seems to be about bantams...?
Thanks!
