I can't tell I get a "Forbidden" message when I click the link.

I would be surprised if it was a pure bred bird. But it looked like a small (or bantam cochin) with the mille fleur markings. Wish I could find a picture of him but there is no telling which hard drive it is on and I'm horrible about organizing & labeling my pics.

just google search "mille fleur d'uccle" They are fairly common, and very fast as well as flighty... sounds like a chicken that couldn't be caught

Sorry for the double post. My computer hung up and now I'm not getting the delete button on the edit post page.

Everyone's project birds are very pretty. I think we have a fantastic start with this project. This week I should be getting my six starter birds. Three from Ione and three from Tim. My son and I are so very excited to be apart of this project. Thanks Tim and Ione for trusting us with your lovely birds.

Erin,

I'd be thrilled with that little guy. He is going to be perfect for you. I have one cockerel, Sergio, that is not only light but has good type & getting a good pattern. He is still young but I have high hopes for him.

I am very proud of him

He's a spunky little devil though. When he sees me coming he fluffs up, drops his wings, hangs his head low and comes a runnin. I think it's hilarious. He is so full of himself, he actually tries to put me in line like Im one of his girls!!

I just picked up another beautiful pullet from tate(Ralph). She has alot more white in her than my other two pullets, but with my dark roo, I am curious what will happen. tate has some beautiful pullets and I am glad to have some of his stock to start my mille project with. He knows his birds for sure! I will post pics of my new pullet and all of them together as soon as I get my birds to the county fair today!!! Been bathing silkies and other chickens all weekend!!! I love the personalities of the cochins..they compare personalitywise to my silkies.

That's great, Sunshine. Can't wait to see pics. It's so nice to everyone getting birds from different places and still others buy from multiple breeders to create their own line. This allows for much genetic diversity and will be very helpful in the future.

I wanted to pass this thread along. Anyone who is into taking great pics of their birds should see it. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=169003

Last night, I moved my beautiful "Rose"

(one of the "Golden Girls" that I got from Lynne) into a new condo with "Trouble" a young rooster that I purchased from Mike Vogan.

Rose was not being very nice to "Sophia" and I just couldn't tolerate the hen-pecking, and I've wanted to see what the Golden Girl/Trouble cross would come out like anyway...

I'm hoping that he'll add more black to Rose's offspring. It will be interesting to compare the line-bred Lynne's stock (the rest of the Golden Girls are still in with Rudy (the rooster that came with them) with the offspring of an out-cross.

Can't wait till we have babies in the Bluff Country!

(where I suspect I'm going to have a basement full of chickens all winter!!)
