Minnesota Cities Chicken Ordinances and Rules

One suggestion a representative of www.mypetchicken.com said has been effective with law changes is to bring a list of all other cities, particularly any nearby, that allow chickens and their ordinances to show how this is being embraced and successfully implemented in our state. Converticoop said if you know of any friendly neighbors, you might approach them and ask them to sign a brief statement that they feel no threat to their peace, health, or comfort by having chickens in their neighborhood.

Bring some color photos of beautiful, neatly kept coops you find online or of friends you know that have coops and outline the care and cleanliness routine pointing out how chicken wastes are much cleaner than dogs, who most often no housing ordinances, and much more easily and neatly contained, regularly and easily disposed of, unlike dogs of which there is no ordinance for cleaning up their excrement from yards and are frequently even left around sidewalks and public areas. Suggest roosters could be omitted, to show a bargaining exclusion and offering, which ensures a quiet neighborhood to continue. I'd address the senses, sight, smell, sound. Eggs can be offered to neighbors for taste :)

Hello,

Count me in as one who is supportive of having chickens in Eden Prairie! We live at the end of a cul-de-sac and have a HUGE fenced in back yard that has a pond in back. PLENTY of room for chickens! And I love them so much......

Let me know what I can do.

Thanks!
