Minnesota!

Thanks, Forest Lake is just a quick 15 min drive from here. I'll have to call them and see if they have anything scheduled.
I bought an incubator.... first hatch due on 2/23. A friend gave me 13 of her barnyard mix, all 13 are alive and kicking so far. This is even more exciting than I originally anticipated. I want to hatch more but need somewhere for them to go!
Yeah, get off work at 7am, not get there til almost 10 and all the good deals will be gone :( But it's been a good swap in the past. I hate working overnights. Someone find me a 9-5 m-f job that pays well! :D But thank you, I knew Hutchinson was usually in Feb, but hadn't heard when yet :)

@Timbertoes - Moose Lake will be starting up as soon as it gets nice out, first Saturday of every month. Sturgeon Lake will likely not have theirs anymore as the feedmill shut down. Carlton has moved as that feedmill also shut down. Mora should be starting up, and they always have the Wednesday sale that has critters at it usually. Ummm...Can't think of anything else north of the cities off hand. Oh, Houles in Forest Lake?

Is there anyone that raises meat birds on the north side (Forest Lake, Anoka, Blaine). I have been looking for a good place to buy my chicken. I just don't want to buy it in the grocery anymore.

Hello from Brainerd... I just found this site on BYC and glad to find ya. I have 2 ducks with 3 in the brooder and 10 more in the bator,12 chickens-2 barred rocks,2 white leghorns-4 RIR's-2 NH-1 LBL and a miss fit of a cross Rooster. I also have 3 RIR chicks in the brooder with 1 black Australorp. Also have 4 RIR and 8 BA in the bator. I think I have SPRING fever big time. So what is in the news for the rest of the state?

I would like to raise 2-3 Cornish of my own this spring. I'm not sure where to buy them. We've bought all our chicks from Anoka Ramsey Garden last year and have been really pleased with the variety they have. Our hens are absolutely wonderful. They will make special orders by request, but I'm not sure if they'd order meat birds and what the price would be. They also do not require a minimum purchase.

This is awesome. I am looking at coming to the April event as I understand it will be having a greater number of the smaller animals present at that time. Since I still needing to find a companion zebra finch for my little hen, I need to make the trip when finch would also likely be there. My daughter is hoping for us to also find a couple rabbits and I'm also hoping to see about some fancy pigeon breeds.

Do you have any farm stores up there? Runnings and Tractor Supply both carry cornish x pretty much all spring- they're in high demand, so you usually have to pre-order them.

On another note, does anyone near Hastings have an incubator they aren't using this spring (I know, that's just silly, but thought I'd ask!). My daughter's class is hatching chicks, but the teacher has to find an incubator- she asked me because she knows I keep chickens, but I don't own one (yet...). I told her I would ask around...

I guess I wasn't really fully stated what I was looking for... I am looking for someone who raises them and then sells them already 'done in' as I can't do it.

I am wondering if anyone on the north side has true Ameraucana hatching eggs for sale. I am looking for between 9 & 12 to hatch out around the week of March 18th.

There is a thread with MN swap dates: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/614884/mn-swap-dates-for-2012#post_8460761 There are usually a lot of different pigeons at both the New Ulm and Hutchinson swaps. Some rabbits and house birds. The auction in Pierz on March 31st usually has a TON of rabbits, some house birds but few if any pigeons.

We live in west central MN too! We are right in between Fergus and Alex right of 94. Where abouts are you?
