So a while back I bought some clearance chicks 0.50 each) from TSC. They were in a mixed bin of "Rhode Island Red and Silver Laced Wyandotte" I bought 6 of the SLW, and noticed upon getting them home that four had single combs. I figured they were sex link pulleys until a few of them turned into obvious cockerels with wattle and combs by 3 weeks old. Two of the six are SLW, but what do these guys look like? All four of the mystery chicks have this same look, and I have two pulleys and two cockerels. They are heavy set little things.

Maybe Dixie Rainbows or some other mixed color layer strain. Also, I know some hatcheries have crossed black Leghorns onto Iowa Blues and are selling them as Iowa Blues, so that is a possibility, although doubtful if these are very heavy. Iowa blues should be around the size of a Rhode Island red or Australorp.
