Mite Control

I have just gotten some new juvenile chickens and am wondering how I will control mites. What to use and how often?

There are a number of products that kill them (one link below.) You can put wood ashes in their dust bathing area to help control them as well. (I don't recommend DE, as many here do, because it is so irritating th their respiratory tract.)

Mostly, I think the trick is getting in the habit of checking them for bugs periodically. Usually you can pick them up off the roost and they will stay calm enough for this.
