Mites

First time I've had a broody chicken. She's been sitting nearly 3 weeks. Noticed yesterday that we have 4 babies but mites all over remaining eggs. What do I do? I keep a clean coop. Hopefully I didn't kill anyone but everyone was dusted and I cleaned out coop, made mom a new nest which she is sitting on and sprinkled DE in coop. I feel like a dirty bird.

I use Sevin 5 in broody nests; even on eggs and newly hatched chicks. Here in TN the insect life is over the top; mites and lice would be in everything if I didn't constantly treat for them.

Even the cleanest coops get invaded from time to time so it has nothing to do with being a "dirty bird".
