I took more pics today, it was so nice out it was only in the mid 80's today!! They have really grown, I think I ended up with 3 girls and 5 boys. Not to bad, at least they didn't all turn out to be roosters!

One of my girls, Cochin X Houdan

Another girl, Cochin X Barred Rock

Boy, Cochin X Houdan

Another boy, Cochin X Barred Rock

Boy, really was hoping this one was a girl. Cochin X TetraTint

Boy, but really love his coloring. Cochin X Faverolles

Girl, by far my favorite of the whole group!! Cochin X Faverolles

Boy, Cochin X Barred Rock

The cochin faverolles are by far my favorites. There is something neat about bearded and booted chickens with straight combs. I am working on a booted, rosecomb non bearded chicken.

I have a new project that I am starting. I am going to cross some sumatra bantams with some showgirls to produce a purple skin NN sumatra. My stock is young but I got my first egg from them a couple of days ago. My daughter got excited and said Quick Dad put it in the incubator! I told her I am going to save up some eggs before I do that. I will post pictures when I get some to hatch.

its best to wait at least a month before incubating pullet eggs so the eggs have a chance to get to size and you dont have small chicks. also will you be going for the long tails of the sumatra's as well?
