Probably a simple question - but would it be okay to have a bigger breed of goose with a smaller breed of goose, as long as both are female? I was thinking of ordering one Tufted Roman and one Buff or Toulouse, just for the sake of variety, but I know in ducks females will mount each other and I don't want one of my girls to be squished. Would it likely be okay, or should I just order a Pilgrim so they're a little more evenly matched?

My Toulouse female isn't very big my Embden gander is much larger and they do fine mating so if you go with Roman tufted and Toulouse you should be fine. Listen these geese are tough cookies if my 5 lb Muscovy females can handle their 12 lb drake I think your safe on any of the breeds you mentioned. And being female they aren't going to be near as rough.

@Miss Lydia Oh, I see that! I was surprised at how quickly they sold out of April goslings, though I guess I should have predicted that.

Another question: if you've ordered from Metzer before, do they always ship on the "availability" date? It says their next goslings will be May 20 - so that means they will be shipped May 20, correct?

When I ordered from PP they sent me ship date and that was the day they hatched May 22 and arrived at my PO the 24th. I am hoping and praying for swift safe delivery for my little Runners. Let me know what you find out.
