MJ's little flock

Well, she passed this soft-ish shelled egg. It's sort of leathery. I'll take it with me to the vet. Her attitude is again active and bright. She even came running and squatted.

It looks like it broke inside her. So long as it's all there she should be fine but good to check.

Ok, we're back from the vet with a diagnosis (metritis secondary to infectious coryza), medication (soluble lincospectin to go in the water for all three of them), and she's booked in for a reassessment in 10 days.

After she'd emptied her bowel, which was not a shining moment, she was a very good girl. She sat patiently on the examination table and settled down to wait while the vet and I discussed her case.

You are very lucky to have a vet that will take care of chickens. They are very difficult to find here. We will keep her in our prayers.
:hugs
