MJ's little flock

I'm very sorry your dad was put through all of that.
Our family has its war heroes too. Two uncles and a cousin with ptsd.
It's not your fault, MJ. Frankly I think if the pollies want to wage wars they should be the 1st in the front lines! :gig Everyone in that generation has it's stories & it's heroes.

My father was in the Navy during part of WW2. He hardly ever talked about it.
My Uncle was in the International Brigade here in Spain fighting Franco. He probably knew the area I live in. The International Brigade retreated into these mountains trying to get to France.
Much respect to them.

My one hope for AI is that it might one day demonstrate we shouldn't fight each other.

The Navy stories are something else!! The Resistance stories are amazing. I'm just gob smacked @ people like Nancy Wake who seemed to thrive on the danger & she swore she was never afraid.

There's a way of doing democracy that keeps little people in the decision-making chain. If I recall correctly, Switzerland is very good at it.

Some of the most shocking stories I've heard first hand have been from my eldest daughters Polish husbands family. It's one thing going off to someone else's land to fight well equiped and supported; it's all together a different kind of war when it's in your homeland. Poland was not a good place to be.

I believe horror stories came out of Russia also. Sent to fight without weapons. Who does that to their people?
