MJ's little flock

We're back from the vet.

Lorna's infection has harmed her liver, but she'll recover if she's crop fed.

Soooo I've had a lesson and I'm fully equipped with powdered food (Wombaroo), syringes, and a strange needle.

Each meal has to have a milk thistle capsule added to it. 4 meals daily until the 27th, then see how she goes.

She's to be weighed daily until she holds or gains weight without being fed. If her weight drops again, we restart the crop feeding.
How does he know that? Did he do blood tests?
Is the crop feeding because she won’t eat by herself?
Poor little thing!

No, I don't have scales accurate enough. :( It would be good to get a set like they have at the vet though.
Having said that, I do weigh them with me holding them on the people scales if I have to get wormer liquid into them. It just isn’t accurate gram-wise, only kilos and one decimal point.

No, he didn't use any tests. I think he was using the "if you hear hooves" principle you were explaining the other day.

As for me, I'm following instructions and hoping for the best. At least liquid food will get through her digestive system.

I weighed Lorna on the kitchen scale by putting her in a little plastic lunch box. She stood still long enough for a reading.
