MJ's little flock

Unfortunately I missed the start so I've no idea how she got her speed up. Running, I guess.
Mine have done it both ways, then add the ducks. Generally, my chickens will run and jump into flight, but there have been a few that follow the ducks and just flap like crazy until they get lift and then jump and go. Ducks always do the latter method and rarely get more than a meter off the ground, I think when they do it frightens them.

We had two ducks when we were kids, Daddles and Bruce. Daddles never flew but Bruce could go a long way. We were always shooing him out of neighbours' gardens.

He never mastered landing though. He always went for a water landing on dry land and would plant his nose every time! He eventually flew away to live with the other ducks on a local lake. Much nicer for him. We visited him for about six months and threw pellets for him, but he was doing so well we left him to it in the end.

I bet the parents will be grateful! Besides the anniversary outing have you had a chance to do something nice in the time off?
The parents will be lined up in the parking lot waiting before we open :barnie

After we came home we put a movie on and looked at our photo albums :love
During the day while Bob was working I took walks around our property and took pictures -which I love doing. Taking pictures of nature is what helps me to unwind and relax.

Awww how lovely. Perhaps I'll look at my photo albums this weekend :)

Thinking back, I realised last night was only Peggy's fourth night in the henhouse and the roosts have changed every night. So she's more than entitled to a little confusion.

It seems like the four levels of roosts will work out, given a few more nights for Peggy to adapt.

On the other hand, I wonder if Mary is moulting? I'm not entirely certain, but I think she dropped a feather over night :gig

Looks like molting me, otherwise you have another problem!
