That's what I do. I did try at one point to sex chicks but with this lot I kept getting it wrong. With my inexperience, I'll have to keep waiting for an egg or a crow.
Very sad.I just spoke to Dr Hill and Sandy's xrays showed a uterine infection. If she can gain strength he'll operate otherwise we're looking at euthanasia.
If this turns out to be the case you'll have to change her name to IvanI'm starting to think Ivy might be a cockerel.
I'm rather fond of her myself.Fat Bird is my kinda gal!
At least you know now.I just spoke to Dr Hill and Sandy's xrays showed a uterine infection. If she can gain strength he'll operate otherwise we're looking at euthanasia.
And more hugs for you LozzyNo, she started limping. I took her to the vet and she got put on antibiotics and pain meds. She had two weeks of that and slowly seemed to be getting better, then suddenly stopped walking (limping). She was still eating and drinking so had an x-ray. The avian specialist thought it was possibly cellulitis but wasn’t completely sure. We were going to start her on stronger antibiotics but when the vet knocked her out to get fluids into her and clip her vent feathers, she had trouble breathing on her side and her heart-beat was fading rapidly. He brought her to me wrapped in a towel and she died in my arms.![]()
