MJ's little flock

It's a relief. I hope her swelling from the surgical wound is down this morning. She's obviously much more cheerful and she's not rubbibg her face on her back any more. She's still shaking her head but that should slow down as the eye muck eases.

This morning the yellow patch on her face is about half the size it was when she went to roost.
Look at her go! I'm so pleased the procedure went well and everything seems to be healing up nicely! :clap

It takes me about 45 minutes a day, maybe an hour to keep up with my favourite threads. I'm grateful to you for spending the time :)

45 minutes?! It takes me over an hour! More if I've missed a day or we've been especially chatty. :caf

Actually, if not much has been happening and it takes me less than an hour, I kind of feel at a loss....🤣

I'm surprised you don't eat them.
I think I may - the chickens may be my excuse to start. But it is a whole production - you have to wear gloves because they turn your hands black (also good for home-made dye). Then you have to figure how to get them open - some people put steel plates over them and then drive their car over the plate - I am thinking of a hammer on the steel plate. But I think I will have a go this year. I make one hell of a walnut cake but I end up buying the walnuts which seems silly as they rain down on my head.

I don't know what the problem is MJ. I'm hoping to get a man I know in the village who keeps game fowl to come up and have a look at her. I don't think there is much about chickens he doesn't know. The language is a bit of a problem though. He speaks Moroccan and a bit of Spanish; I don't speak either. We had this problem with the straw itch mite when I went looking for spiders which is what mites get called here.:lol:
My feeling is she has some kind of deformity. That's fine as long as it isn't debilitating.
Is there a third person who can translate? I'm thinking it would be good to know what he says sooner. Perhaps someone from the chicken club?

She seems better every day. Yesterday her eye had less muck in it, so she shook her head less than the day before.

Peggy prefers eating weeds to enzyme-laced mash but tough cookies. She's gotta eat her enzymes. So I'm reduced to trickery.
