Last night Mary was incredibly glossy! That's down to the new pellets I guess.

Thank you all for your response. I was getting worried so thank you for acknowledging that this is not normal. The calcium I have for the water has Vitamin D in it as well. I have investigated and the shell grit I use is equivalent to oyster shell. My task for today is to try and find a vet who knows something about birds/chickens. I will update you all once I have made some progress. This is one of those times when it is such a privilege to have access to people who know a lot about chickens. I have an action plan.

Gorgeous Photos MJ!! This is one time when I am very fortunate to live in Melbourne. There is a group of Bird Specialist vets 20 minutes from my house. They specialise in all birds from rare parrots to chickens. I just collected today's egg and it was a perfect hard shell egg. I will make an appointment with the vet to check them out and to have Schnitzel checked out as well just in case.
