One of the reasons chicken care has been challenging lately is that, without an enclosure the hens are at risk of tempting passing dogs, most of whom are on leashes - it's the loose ones i worry about. So I'm encouraging the hens to spend time in the back porch where dogs won't dare to go.

The sooner the hens have their own space again, the better.

When are the tradies due back?

It mostly comes from within. I have colleagues who hate it but these days I refuse to be drawn into negativity.
