Are you sure she wasn't awake? Bob's hens seem to get up to all sorts when they should be asleep. From that, I've thought intermittent sleep might be a normal part of chicken life. That is what I was wondering.

Cats and dogs will vocalise whilst they’re dreaming; I don’t see why other animals wouldn’t too.Ok, I assumed she was awake while the others slept but if she called out while sleeping maybe she was dreaming?
There is very little is as satisfying as seeing a nice healthy poop.I've also put a garden bench across from the shady shrub so I can chill with the chooks.

And Peggy dropped a rather healthy looking poop. I guess her digestion is functioning ok for the time being.

I had crowing going on in the coop one day last week, on Thursday I think. I did not catch who was doing it. I wish they would stop. I don't know how I would explain that to the neighbors. Some of them still think hens without roosters do not lay eggs. There are a few hens in the neighbourhood who put out a sort of half crow. Mary did it for a while, but the champion is Essy the big hen up the street. I heard her a moment ago. Of course, we've got Rocky the rooster up the street too (he lives at a different house to Essy), and then there's another half-crowing hen down the street.
I have never heard of that. It could be possible but I've not heard of it.Ok, I assumed she was awake while the others slept but if she called out while sleeping maybe she was dreaming?
Well, it's good to know their crops are not blocked.
I wonder why two hens have the trots while the other two are okbut it's not coincident, is it? It's one after the other.
Mary has had very loose poop lately, but i haven't been worried about it because usually is loose while she moults.
Pretty sure. I was heading out to do my crop check. I heard the crow before I got fully outside. At first I thought it was an owl or other night creature. Are you sure she wasn't awake? That is true. And they clearly dream. Running across the Serengeti seems a common one.Cats and dogs will vocalise whilst they’re dreaming; I don’t see why other animals wouldn’t too.
Because they each ate something disgusting that they found while free ranging. I see it all the time here. I do not get worried until diarrhea is sustained for several days.
