Well Maggie's is sustained over weeks (which is why I got her's tested) but it is improving a bit and in neither case are the hens acting even remotely poorly.Because they each ate something disgusting that they found while free ranging. I see it all the time here. I do not get worried until diarrhea is sustained for several days.
It's either different causes or like Bob said, Maggie introduced Dotty to her favourite unhealthy snack while they were roaming about.Well Maggie's is sustained over weeks (which is why I got her's tested) but it is improving a bit and in neither case are the hens acting even remotely poorly.
And unlikely. It was something I asked about when I got my 1st lot of littlies. The advice was put everyone on the chick starter. No harm would come to the older girls but definitely not regular feed for the chicks.I don't think so. I gave them chick feed when they were molting and it was fine and right now they get just a very few spilled crumbs. I am mystified.
That is a possibility. The tribe's hens were obsessed with chick food.Is it possible the hens are eating the chick's crumbs and it's upset their digestion?
Approval for the veranda rebuild came through yesterdayI'm sure I've mentioned this before but not in a while, so perhaps it's news.
The architect (he's also the builder) has submitted the veranda plans for approval. It's going to be deconstructed and reconstructed with new materials and adequate footings. He's also going to do the gables and maybe the money will stretch to a tessellated tile floor. Once we have approval, he'll put out the call for tender and do the first budget. Then we can get started.
When it's all finished, it'll be the first time in my life that the house has a smiling face. And I can't wait to see it!
Here's a before photo. You can see how shabby it is. And also it's easy to imagine how lovely it will be when finished.

I thought of that too - although I won't if it is all too stressful and rushed.@RoyalChick it just hit me, if you take Bernadette to the vet for treatment, maybe take a sample of Dotty's poop for a fecal float too.
