Looking good MJ!I sat with the hens for a while
Thanks! There's lots of things for them to do.Looking good MJ!
Also happy for Angel !Living her best chickeny life. She’s only got a couple more doses to go, we’re both over it. Broody Snowy on the other hand is not looking after herself.![]()
Is she in the first few days of brooding? Maybe she's doing ok with fewer meals and drinks?
It’s been about a week. She’s noticeably lighter.I've been sliding Mary out of the laundry basket nest every day at dinner time to reassure myself she's doing ok with all the rain and to steal eggs from her. She takes it in her stride. She starts talking, stands, takes a deep breath, shakes, and goes looking for food. Such a darling.
It bothers me that she’s barely eating or drinking. I know of broodies who died because they didn’t look after themselves.Sorry that it looks like it will take more than a good week to feel better. Are you able to take more days off work, or do you have to do some from home ?
I love seeing the hen's place from all the different angles. I am not good at figuring out the global setting when I see pictures of one part of a place. They have indeed a lot of things for their enjoyment.
Glad for Janet and I hope Christa will perk up.
Also happy for Angel !
Are you worried Snowy may have an issue because she doesn't eat enough ?
Yesterday's big symptom was headache and brain fog. With a bit of coughing and fever.Sorry that it looks like it will take more than a good week to feel better. Are you able to take more days off work, or do you have to do some from home ?
It's a nice chicken run. There's plenty of opportunity for each chicken to escape her friends if she needs to. Sometimes I put a bale of hay in there for the hens and that keeps them busy for a week or so. One of the reasons there's a lot of straw scattered around is that I put a bale of straw in the run before I went to Sydney so the hens would have something to do while I was away.I love seeing the hen's place from all the different angles. Does she take on some food if you get her up?It bothers me that she’s barely eating or drinking. I know of broodies who died because they didn’t look after themselves.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.Does she take on some food if you get her up?
