MJ's little flock

She looks so happy to be home !
It seems she needed to check around everywhere to make sure you hadn't messed anything while she was gone 😊.
Hopefully, she will continue to get better !
She was making so many chirruping noises! It was very cute.

I hope she transitions OK after her treatments and will continue improving.

And here's the important part of her discharge letter.

Psyllium husk acts the same as porridge! Forms a gel to coat stuff you want to move out.
Hyperuricaemia is a sign of poor kidney function. I wasn’t aware metal toxicity could cause that. Good that it improved. Will they check it again in a month or something?

7 days. She has an appointment for 8.30am Thursday morning. They're going to take blood to measure enzymes in the machine and her enzyme level will reveal her kidney function.

I'd like to say Katie's friends welcomed her back home but they've all reminded her she's lowest in pecking order. Except Edie.

It's not helping her to settle down and eat. So I've put one of the open tray feeders back into the run for the time being. I'm hopeful the extra food station will give Katie an opportunity to eat as much as she pleases.

To be precise, the cause of her impaired kidney function* isn't known with certainty. If it wasn't zinc toxicity, then something else caused it. Indications are zinc toxicity was at least a contributing factor as her kidneys have improved with treatment.

*The vets call it a kidney injury, but that doesn't mean someone hurt her kidneys. More likely something injured them.
