Friends, Ivy has died.
She had a nice day roaming around on Sunday. She enjoyed lettuce scraps with enthusiasm yesterday. Tuesday (today) she didn't feel like coming out of the roosting box. She was sitting down, so I went out to check on her and wondered if she was broody. I kept an eye on her all morning and saw no struggling. 15 minutes ago, I went outside to check her again and maybe call the vet and I found she had died.
To my best knowledge she wasn't sick, but she may have had something I couldn't perceive, after all she wasn't broody over the summer at all. I will never know because as usual, I won't be pursuing a post mortem.
Peggy is perturbed and tried tidbitting for Ivy's remains.
She led a happy life of digging and nibbling, and shuffling along in her slippers. I'll never forget the day I met her nor the day she and her friends went wandering up the street towards the train station.
