Argh, just caught Angel pecking away at an avocado on the ground! I think the cockatoos might be eating the tops of them like they do the lemons, but aren't the skins toxic? Not sure if she ingested any skin or was just pecking away at the flesh, and not sure how much she had. I saw a thread that suggested activated charcoal, but the person's chicken seemed fine and it was from 2021.

Blossom is back home after her follow up appointment and she's doing so well, she can go back to eating her normal food and crunchies

Supposedly toxic but I don’t know how much is a problem. I wouldn’t think she would eat it if it was toxic.

I've been throwing avo skins to my girls for years & not killed one yet. Suspect they'd need to eat a huge amount for it to be toxic.

That's good to know. I also think the cockies that are eating the lemons are the ones eating the avocados, which I wouldn't have thought they'd do if they were toxic. I'll keep an eye on them however, plus remove any avocados I find on the ground.
