MJ's little flock

I have a hunch Sunday will be delightful. I have no plans whatsoever so I'll do as I please all day.

I don't think @Ribh is spending much time on byc these days and I feel awkward posting to her thread when she's absent, so here's Blossom for Caturday, toasting her ears and paws in front of the fire.

Please don't feel awkward & post away. I have piles of reading & am technologically challenged. Plus I have a daft sitter I have to keep an eye on. 🙄

I didn't have a great experience taking Mary for her cremation.

She'd been in the freezer, wrapped in her towel with her flowers. I put her in a makeshift cardboard coffin for her final journey.

On arrival to her pre-booked appointment, they didn't let me in the front door. They sent me to the back door. In the rain. Where there's nowhere to put her down except the ground. So I stood there holding her coffin, my arms getting more and more tired. The whole thing was more than 4kg. I gave up and insisted they let me through, which they did. After that, the experience improved until they wanted to open her coffin and remove her towel. What an idiotic and unfeeling suggestion.

Then I tried to give written feedback via the receipt and the submit button on the online feedback form didn't work.

Sheesh.

Talk about room for improvement.
I'm so sorry. How thoughtless.

When we took Phyllis in there was a special area where we met them. There was a table to place her on and sympathetic conversion. They took our word on her weight. They were very caring. Just as you would hope. Please know it can be done right.

I love the box. Very nicely decorated.

It was so discordant.

The crematorium is part of a larger animal welfare shelter and they just haven't spent enough time building the bereavement aspect of their services.
Perhaps a Google review so others know what to expect.
