I have searched the FAQs, but if I simply missed it I apologize and please disregard this thread.
I frequently come across a thread where a newbie has posted a question at the bottom of someones else's thread. I know it's considered hijacking, but sometimes it happens because a person new to the forum missed the 'post new topic' button at the top of the various categories and doesn't know how to start their own thread. The 'post reply' button is pretty obvious, the post new topic one, not so much. They hijack as a way to get their first question out there.
If you're not new to forums in general it's pretty straightforward. However, if BYC is the first forum you've ever encountered (and that happens), it can be a bit daunting.
Maybe it's possible to provide a very obvious and eye catching primer for first time forum users?

Sure, anybody want to write a good primer for newbies?

Please, someone write a primer!!!! I am a Newbie and I need one!! This is the first forum that I have ever seen and am muddling through learning how to use it. Currently struggling with the picture portion of posting

I can upload to the forum and grab the code there, I just cannot figure out how to go back to reuse a photo or how to post a pic without uploading it to the forum. My myspace codes just look like codes, not pictures, when I tried that (it works on craigslist, just not here). Sigh, did I just hijack another thread? I will go through the newbie stuff and see if my answer is in there tomorrow. A primer would be awesome!!!!

Just go to "uploads" then click the "my uploads" link and you can reuse them as much as you want!

Please let me know if you need any help. I'd do it but I'm not real good at explaining how to do something.

Thanks!!! Once I knew what I was looking for it was obvious where to go and what to do.... Apparently I do not look at that corner of my screen very much!! Thank you again, Kooshie. Looking forward to the new BYC collective primer for newbies
