Molting

My chickens molted last fall and they are molting again now. I thought they just did that once a year.

Can you share pictures? Chickens may lose feathers, but in general they won't molt this time of year.

They don't appear to be loosing any feathers but there are some feathers in the run. We caught two snakes in the nest part of the coop. One had eaten 4 fake eggs. Found their entrance and havent seen them since. The black one in the photo is broody. I think two of them may be laying. I get one egg a day and they are slightly different colors.

Feather loss this time of year is because feathers are getting older. I see you have a rooster. He will be the main reason for feather loss from all the chasing and mating.
