watch some of the slightly redneck videos on youtube. He covers ton's of the questions your asking and is very hands on when explaining so I think they would help you. If you just search slightly redneck incubation quail you'll probably find 4 or 5 very helpful videos.

I haven't read the entire thread so it may have been covered so if it has then sorry but why don't your mom be the responsible one instead of her kid?

Well, because I'm not a kid anymore XD. But due to circumstances I still live with her. I'm the one who usually does the hatching anyway so I know our incubator best. She only got an incubator in the first place because I told her I was interested in hatching our own chicks a few years ago.
