hi everyone! so i was just wondering if all pekin ducks are white or is there any other color like brown or black? i’ve tried googling but i couldnt get answers Also does TSC sell ducks around this time? If so, do they give you a specific breed for the pekin ducklings or are they all unsexed. I wanted 2 females but i dont know if i can get some guaranteed. One more question, Does anyone know if i get two male pekin ducks, would they try fighting? or if i get a male and female, would they for sure lay ducklins? I am wondering since im not sure if TSC sells the ducklings in genders. Thank you so much for all the help!

Tractor Supply here does not sex their ducks or chicks. They are all straight run, which I have found can mean more males than females, since females may have been pulled out by the hatchery to be sold to vendors who do sex their stock. In addition, TSC here does not segregate their ducklings by breed. All of their ducklings are together in one trough. So if you want a particular breed, you have to be able to identify it by sight yourself. The employees tell us that they just get what they get when a new shipment arrives. This may not be true of all TSC stores.

We also have Orscheln stores here and our local store was willing to special order the breeds of ducklings we wanted and called us as soon as they arrived. They had to order the minimum, which was a lot more than we needed, but they just sold us the ones we wanted and put the rest up for sale in the store where they sold quickly. The livestock manager was able to confirm the sex of our ducklings, though didn’t have to because the breed we got has gender-specific characteristics when newly hatched.

Nope. THey come in white because that colour makes the cleanest carcass. If you want other colours, you'll have to get other breeds.

Give it a few weeks and TSC will have ducklings. Depending on the size of the TSC, they may have the ducklings segregated by breed. They will not have them sexed. As Duckworth said, if you want sexed ducks, you should order through a different source.

Usually, drakes will fight during breeding season.

if i get a male and female, would they for sure lay ducklins?
Are you asking if they would hatch their own ducklings? Pekins are not a broody breed, and are unlikely to set a nest. They should, however, lay fertile eggs which you can incubate yourself.
