You might want to consider 1/2" hardware cloth, not so much to keep the birds in, but to keep predators out. Everything likes to eat quail.
Ty but we have a missy!! She's a terrier cross beagle, who loves to kill things and has always kept guard in our garden.... Plus this is England!

Ah, so you have external predator proofing! View attachment 2286288

England has predators too, though. Rats, weasels, etc.

You do have a nice setup.
Ty very much! That's lovely to hear. Actually just where we are we get foxes only. We are in a town. Don't see any rats, never seen weasels. Maybe birds of prey but wouldn't get them trying. But yes our dog is fab. Always has been. Plus we do have an inside bit for bed time. Haahaa 4th day of being outside and they know when it's bed time! First night was crazy getting them in, second night easier, but still had to chase abit, 3rd and tonight they know, they call to each other and get ready by the door. Our biggest chicken was even telling us by jumping up and down and squarking abit. Then he just headed in and the rest followed. So we just closed the door!! Easy!
