Okay okay. Here's the background on MY MIL and as to why I loathe the woman.
1. All 6 of her living children are in debt up to their eyeballs from 'student loans and credit cards'. All the kids were 'required' to do at least 1 year of college. Because they'd all be eligible for money.
They applied for a $4,000 loan when Ian was in the Disney Program at college and sent him to FL with $300 in his pocket. They kept his loan money and his credit cards. Niiiiice.
2. My husband has purchased MIL/FIL's last THREE vehicles. They would take his whole paycheck, along with his sisters and brothers who were still living at home. They give new meaning to child labor, FIL beat the tar out of my husband from the day he was born. Almost broke his kneecaps with a baseball bat when he was 16. Continued that 'lovely' treatment up until I met Ian. He's always been rude to me, as well as her. I've been called a slew of names, including 'retarded wh*re', because I would not give them MY paychecks the year I was living there. Apparently, I only wanted Ian for a hobby
3. The day my MIL threw me out of their house, she slapped me. She's lucky she didn't eat her teeth, because had my OWN mother did that, she'd be sore. I'll tell ya that much.
4. When I got pregnant with our first son, my MIL would call my husband's cell phone several times a week to leave messages like 'I saw Michelle out with so and so in the trails. That baby isn't yours! She'll ruin your life, come home to Mommy' ... FREAK?! Considering I never left the house when I was pregnant, that's funny.
5. She did the same thing with our second son's pregnancy. Oh how I love thee, MIL.
6. She finds it in her heart to email me randomly every 2-3 months to start some new drama. Example: If Ian doesn't call his 'real family', it is MY fault. Because afterall, I keep Ian and his sons from their 'real family'. Like I'm dirt or something. So, that automatically labels me 'The Prison Guard' to the inlaws.
The sad part? The MIL, FIL and majority of the kids are all the same. They treat me like garbage. I've married down considerably. I know if MY parents or siblings ever treated my husband like that, there would be hell to pay and we'd never speak again. Ian on the other hand, is a doormat that is used to being conned and controlled, so he can't help but say yes to anything they ask of him. I wish someone would send them all arsenic fruit cakes for the holidays.
So, that's why I hate my MIL. The ONLY nice thing she's ever done for me... oh yeah, I got a compliment once. 'You make gorgeous babies.' Yeah, I know, now crawl back under your rock.
