My girls are really fussy they are on layers and have got apple cider vinegar tonic in their water they love a treat of meal worms. But if I give them anything else and leave it out before putting there food out they will wait.
A healthy bird will not starve itself. Layer feed is for actively laying birds ONLY. All that calcium is not good for those that aren't producing eggs.

See I did say I am new to this and have learnt something I will cease feeding it until they start to lay.
I feed mine growers only as have a cockerel and some n and off lay, I have two other containers one with grit and one with ground oyster shell so I don’t need to ever feed layers as they help themselves to the calcium’s they need form the oyster shell, oh and I give them baked crushed eggshells as well. They are a couple of pretty birds you have there

G’Day from down under Rebecca :frow Welcome!

Aaaw, your girls are adorable!

I have 5 bantams and sometimes I am jealous when I read stories of what people throw in to the chicken run and what their chickens eat. Personally, I have found bantams to be picky, fussy little munchkins ;)

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has a Learning Centre and also Topic of the Week articles which I have found to be a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
