OMG yes, the National Lampoon Family Vacation, and the Christmas Vacation are sooo freaking funny! Forget about "It's a Wonderful Life", it's not Christmas without Christmas Vacation!

I can't believe only one Mel Brooks' movie--Space Balls--made the preceding lists. Try these: Silent Movie; High Anxiety; Blazing Saddles (a must see); To Be or Not to Be; History of the World. Part 1; Young Frankenstein; The 2000 Year Old Man; Robin Hood: Men in Tights (ok that was '90's); Dracula, Dead and Loving It; The Producers (1968 version). All are available from Netflix, some for streaming. Also Princess Bride which he had a part in. Then there are a lot of good Woody Allen movies: Annie Hall; Hannah and Her Sisters; Manhattan; Purple Rose of Cairo; Crimes and Misdemeanors; Zelig; Broadway Danny Rose. Are some I liked.
