I have several ducklings this year. I mostly have mallard derived breeds, but do have a few muskovies. The moskovies don't mingle when I'm looking, but am wondering if I might have a few mules.

What made me start to wonder is the odd sounds the black and whites. Whistle and make other high pitched sounds. (Sorry no video)

My drakes are Welsh Harlequin and Runners besides the Muskovy. My hens are WH, Runners, Pekin, and Ancona. As large as the black and whites are I suspect Pekin mothers instead of Anconas. 2 were hatched by a Pekin, but if they had not already laid in mixed nests I traded to get a variety when they went broody. My muskovies are the black wild color.

It's hard to tell with those pics, since they're blurry up close... Do you see any kind of caruncle on them? With their size though, I'd have to say Pekin mix. Looks a lot like my own, and he's a huge boy!

We will be handling the birds and selling some tonight. Anything to look for as signs of mules besides caruncles? I don't see any caruncles, but even muscocvies would not show at the age of the younger ducklings.
