Muscovies: barred or rippled?

I'm sorry, I'll have to take pics later, but I'm trying to figure out the coloration of my juvi muscovies. The father was lavender, and the mother was a piebald chocolate. A black&white and a blue fawn piebald mother could have also contributed to the nest (all three are related).
These ten babies started out with seven in a typical patterned black&yellow (black stripe over the eye, what I thought was regular black). The other three were pure black.
Now all ten look barred. They have the pattern and look more like blue than black. Feet and beak are mottled, and the light part of the beak looks very light gray, not pink like I expected. Four have white patches (het white), but the rest do not.
Neither parent was obviously marked, so I'm surprised that every single baby has this pattern.
Anyone have an explanation?

I have had all colors show up in my black to black breeding. You don't know what genes they are carrying until you cross them. The barring will disappear, but it's cool to see them like that for a short while.

Okay, thanks. If it disappears in adults, the parents might be barreds themselves, which would explain why we didn't get even a single self colored.

Some adults you can still see a vague rippling in the feather pattern. I think also that it's recessive so the adults don't always show it, but I'm not positive.

Here's mom and dad with babies.

The drake could be rippled but you can't see it, he's similar to my one that was barred when younger but now is a buff. I can't find a picture of her as an adult, only when she was younger. Guess I need to get some pictures of them.

Any ideas on this baby? The dad is that lavender drake from a lavender flock. Mom is a piebald blue fawn (she's in the pic of the drake above). I wasn't expecting any babies so light because I'm unaware of any lavender on Mom's side. If she does carry lavender, any idea how to tell if she's pure lavender or a lavender/blue?

This is the first baby to hatch of this clutch. Maybe seeing the rest will shed some insight.

I believe my ripple started out that color than they color up. It's been a few years. I have to find my pictures of them. The color they become I believe is determined by that head color.

Your drake looks to be lilac not lavender. And your female is chocolate pied.

There are no ripples or barred in your pics (adults or babies).

Do you have any better pics of the babies?
