Muscovy keepers share your pics!

This bird is a pin in my booty. She has been broody for two months. She sat on two eggs for 40 days, I took them away and they were rotten. Now she just goes in and sits on the other hen's egg all day until I take it away. ugh. Thank goodness for leather work gloves, she is MEAN!

I bought fake goose eggs for my Muscovy's to sit on. they sit 35 days on day 36 I go in and remove the eggs when they come out to eat, etc, stir up the nest and they go in and sit the rest of them day next day the one I have done this with so far was completely over it. Now this week I will do Miss 2nd broody we'll see what happens with her.

We locked her out of the pen last night away from her nest and when I went out this morning to let everyone out she was in the nest. She got up on the roof of the pen and busted through a piece of netting. We made our roof out of a PVC frame with shade cloth but we had one square we ran out of cloth so I put deer block over it, she broke that spot. Now I get to fix the whole thing again. Whee!

Haha yeah got to love their mischievous, stubborn ways just how birds are. They are very crafty little things to.My goose sat outside her nest for days but finally gave up so I'm very happy because she did hatch two eggs but she killed both of the chicks I gave her chicken eggs and I felt terrible and am not letting her do it again until she matures more she's still just a baby I mean she could live 30+ years and she barely turned a year old so I think she's just to young but her instincts to brood took over.Little Assyra such a stinker she is.

My flock a few weeks ago most of them anyways.I love how even when they have acres to roam they all hangout together the ducks, geese and chickens its so cute. They all load up every night to well the chickens do my waterfowl will to but I lock up sooner in case of predators that come out just before dark.My chickens load up about an hour and a half before dark my waterfowl wait until they practically can't see outside anymore but they will. The drakes are so funny I put the ducklings in the kiddie pool and the drakes don't do anything but stare!

Hatch is done. 13 whites 2 black split to ripple males, 1 chocolate split to ripple female and 2 chocolate ripples. Happy with the number of babies. My last ripple baby I had to help out and it doesn't look good, think it was in the egg too long. Well see if it makes it through the night.
