my anxiety is rising

So glad to hear this is going back to the committee. Good job giving them something to 'chew on' ! Hopefully a wiser plan will come out that is directed to problem dog owners. Never went to a beagle field trial but some of my earliest memories are tagging along with my dad and his beagles in the northern portion of the Pine Barrens. Wonderful listening to the dogs track a scent. Please keep us posted how this goes!

Thanks, Em/Terry. My biggest problem was not in the dogs that I already have licensed - they would be grandfathered. The number of dogs allowed (6) would have prohibited me from licensing young or new dogs. Another problem that I have is that two elderly friends (yes, believe it or not they are older than me) have asked and written in their wills that I accept responsibility for their dogs should they predecease me. We're going to have to work on a different arrangement to cover them. Finally, last night I got a full night's sleep.

Well, you know we'd gladly take any of them.

Around here, the animals get better care than we do. :P

Speaking of, I'm off to the vet to see what kind of damage my wallet is gonna take from Gus's surgery. :/

Good for you! Sometimes the little guy gets to win. Our freedoms are slipping away little by little by "do-gooders" who know what is best for us. Keep your guard up, they'll be back.

47 years in the same location with never a complaint about my dogs, and they feel that they have the right to tell me how to do things on my own property. It is a proposed erosion on individual freedoms and rights. If I am a problem, address me and the problem. Don't catch me in with a bunch of 'we've received complaints'. Questioned at least 6 or 7 times during the 2.5 hour meeting they never defined the 'problem'?

Isn't that always the way? Be as vague as possible and maybe they won't see that it's just a few nosy people trying to make everyone else conform.

Probably ONE person with an axe to grind has complained.......what ever happened to the MAJORITY rule?? We have become a nation of wusses pandering to one or two disgruntled idiots that screw it all up for the rest of us. Stand up and be heard or else get shut up forever. go for it, I'm rooting for you!

Keep standing strong Sour. This sounds like one of those "a threat of a problem" situations. People come up with an imagined problem and try to do something to "fix" it, when there is nothing to fix. Maybe the "problem solvers " should be fixed instead, just sayin'. . . . .
