Poor Pearl. She was being so brave and tried to kill that snake hanging by the coop. The other hens were freaking out but she is so protective, she flew straight up at it, feet first, attacking that snake with such bravery-except.....said snake was actually a fly strip hanging by the coop. So lesson learned after untangling feathers and nasty fly strip goo from a chicken that was still convinced there was a snake on her. Poor baby.. Still sticky on her legs and breast. Does anyone know how to get it off, will it hurt her, can I just leave it alone and let it wear off? She is still stressed out. I had to put a light on in the roost for a little while so she could check it all out and make sure there were no more snakes. I swear she checked out every square inch before she would go up on her perch!!! Smart brave girl. I feel just awful about letting that happen to her.

Aaawwww!!!! That is one of the cutest (and funniest, sorry) things I’ve heard. Can any of the really bad feathers be trimmed with scissors?

I think so. I'll look closer tomorrow. She was so stressed after the ordeal that I didn't want to mess with her any more.
