I mean, I see how I could construct a dress using that pattern...and granny squares would have wonderful ventilation 😆

My crafter brain has taken over!

I was told $45 was too much at the swap meet so I honestly don't know what to charge anymore!
Your work is custom & people have no idea what that entails... plus your time, materials, S+H is $$$ too. My opinion is you're too reasonable... but then price ranges in Calif are probably different from price expectations in other states?

Love OUR handled custom Silkie basket from you 💕 The smaller egg cup holds the egg secure. Don't know how you gauged the size so perfect!

I've a coop question. I may be having to move my coops soon. We have these coops built out of rectangular frames. They are not buried. They look like this:

I realized @TOMTE 's run looks similar. Something like that.

I'm going to be in a area with predators like coyotes and the such. My idea is to bury the frame two feet into the ground, wood and all. My Dad's concern with doing so is that the wood and wire will rot. Would this be a viable way to do it or will it rot/go bad/work badly?

The coop is built out of these frames on all side, connected together. We have two coops like this.
Yes, buried wood rots. For 4 years we elevated our first (wood) coop off bare ground by using 12" paver stones as a foundation. We don't get much rain here so this worked for us.

That will help it not rot, correct? If that won't harm the chickens (they dig) then I'd consider doing that.
Bored chickens might peck at marine paint so we never painted our little coop. The 12" paver stones floor keeps chickens from digging holes to China & keeps the coop frame from sinking in muddy soil. Even in downpours our coop stayed relatively sturdy... so much so that after 4 yrs of us using it, our neighbor wanted the coop after we bought a new bigger coop.

Hi everyone.

Just popping in for a minute. To say I am behind is a understatement. 6 days a week now for the last 2 weeks have killed me. Seeing as how we have not heard a peep from my co-worker since her daughters funeral 2 weeks ago this coming Tuesday, it will continue for a bit. Honestly our boss is now furious. She was given a week off no questions asked, but even she has not heard from her to even say she is not ready to come back to work. At this point I am not sure she even has a job to come back to. They have to do something though. I saw the orthopedic surgeon last Wednesday. Rotator cuff surgery is scheduled for August 14. He wanted to go ahead and put me off work immediately but I told him it was a bad time and I could not do that. As it is I am going to be off for a minimum of 3 months. They have 2 weeks to either hire someone else or my co-worker has to come back. My boss is looking to have someone in place by the end of the week so they can learn the ropes. She's even joked to me that she is going to install a recliner in the diner so after 2 weeks I can come back and answer the phone and run the register with one arm. I love her, I really do...but, nope. I plan on being home, turning Rosie into a slave, and having chicken therapy with my chooks. Barbosa, Calypso and Homer are my calmest when it comes to being held. Lots of tv time in the living room recliner are in order for those 3. Rosie is grumbling a bit over the slave thing. I have politely reminded her 3 years ago when she had her collar bone surgery that I was at her beck and call 24/7 while she recovered. It is time to return the favor.
As for surgery... don't forget to factor in the time for scheduled therapy too. I'm still in therapy over 6 months after my arm surgery but it is so worth it if you can have sessions💕.

Thank you so much 💓
Did you draw this?

This morning he was snoozing in his kennel. He was sulking the last few day plus it was to warm . The sulk was because I'd wiped around the inside of his kennel and washed his blanket.

How I wish I'd taken my phone to take a picture of how I found him, the blinds were hiding him but his two front paws 🐾 were sticking under the blinds.

Because he was so annoyed yesterday morning I left him where he was and carried on cooking his and Nancy's turkey mince, leaving the back door open. He came in and started preening himself whilst he waited for his breakfast.

At last my breakfast is ready 😋 so I'll let you off for waking me up this morning
