My button quails are getting hurt!

So, I have 9 button quails. one day when I came home, one quail had no feathers, was out of the cage, and had blood coming from his head. I didn't know what happened, but it was probably one of two things. 1: it bumped its head on the top of the cage, or 2: another quail was pecking at it. what could've happened?

I would probably think it was injured trying to get out of the cage. How many males are in the cage together?

I don’t know. Since we have two cages, I’m putting the hurt ones in the other cage.

I hope they are ok. They are such cute little birds. Mine is an egg laying machine but she stops sitting after about 10 days. I only have a pair and I'm very new to them.

Yeah. On last week of incubation for some of our own eggs, so hopefully if 1 or 2 die well get more. Also, we used some eggs for pumpkin pie and matzo ball soup today.
