Looks fine! You just need some trim!!!

I like Knock kneed Hen's idea of white trim (buy some molding pieces and paint them). I'd put a hanging basket in front with some fake flowers in it, put up a hand-painted sign.

It would look very cute!!!

If you like, scroll down to near bottom of this byc page and it looks almost like your coop- very nice!

You could buy furring strips cheaply instead of trim. They are 3/4" x 2.5" and would look great as accent strips around the windows, door and on the corners.

I like it, too! If it's too bright for ya put some white or cream trim boards down the corners, around the doors, windows, etc. If it's still too bright maybe sponge paint (with plastic grocery bags scrunched up) over that blue with a lighter blue.... use the blue you have and mix just a little into some white to get a lighter shade..... should co-ordinate just fine!

Just an FYI, adding white paint to darker colors does not lighten them very much. I had about 1/2 gallon of interior satin left in a sage green. I decided I wanted the dining room a little lighter so I bought a pint of white to mix. It only went like 1 paint card shade lighter than the original color. I can't imagine how much white I'd have to add to really lighten it. On the other hand, CL is great for finding cheap paint and around here, we have a couple of "re-stores" where you can buy leftover building supplies. They always have paint and usually have trim boards too.

I agree that white trim down the corners, around the window, along the roof line and perhaps around the door will make you feel better about your blue color.

We paint all our coops green (the color of our house) and until we add the white trim I never like the look.

I agree, the color is fine. All you really need is to trim it out a bit to make it more eye appealing. If you can't afford to buy trim, you can look on CraigsList or even FreeCycle for some scraps to create them. Or you could always measure off a couple or three inches around the areas you may consider trimming up, then tape it off and paint it up to look like trim's in place. Might even be able to find your paint on those two sites too.

Yes, I agree that you can make it into something you really like. It would be very cool if you could have a mural painted on it. I would call it a "sky blue" rather than "smurf blue" and have pretty clouds, flowers, and maybe chickens painted on it! If you have no artistic talent like me, there are stencils that could make it a cool DIY project. White trim is a great idea too!

What about distressing the wood to give it a more vintage feel
This is not my furniture but heres a good example:

I also agree with the trim- We painted the dining room "country" yellow and before white trim it looked more like a little boys room inspired by big bird
