My coop is too friggen blue!

I think a white trim would make it look even more blue. I suggest maybe painting the front and/or back a different color that would complement the blue, or...
Paint a large false window on the bare side(s) and staple some cheap Wal-mart fabric around it to make curtains while painting the "window panes" a different color. The false window can also be made of painted moulding and then add the curtains. I know Wal-mart has fabric for as low as $1-2/yard and you would only need a yard or 2. I added a valance to mine because it just didn't look finished. Also add a nice sized sign on front, maybe a little crooked, and display the name of your coop on it. That would cover a bit of the blue. All this sounds like so much fun. Stay there. I'll be right over! I'll bring some fabric too!

It could use another window but the roof has built in vents too. You can see how the 2x4 roof beams create gaps... It did okay with 21 growing guineas.

And noooooo to smurfs on the side!!!

Last summer we had to build a coop for the guineas since they were getting to big for their brooders and we had enough paint leftover to paint the other coop!
The coop on the left was a BRIGHT blue color as what your're coop is at the moment. We added some white trim and it seemed to dim it down a little, but we just ended up re-painting it and it looks 110% better than it did!

I'm more of an old rustic look kinda gal myself, but I can't help it, I think nurse turtles coop is adorable and I think if you kinda like that "cute" look, then you should go with the white trim and decorative accessories ideas. I also agree about cutting out another window but if you can't do that, a false window in white trim would help break up the color a bit. An old wagon wheel leaning over on the side, a covered front porch, a little window planter, maybe a bale of straw or two, lol....the options are endless! In the end, I think you'll have something we'll all be drooling over!

Good luck and have fun with it!
