how wide are your sidelights? Love your coop BTW
LOL! Actually, today I did paint it almost the same color as the pre-primed siding. I went to Home Depot today and they color matched the siding on my house. I got home tonight too late to take a picture of the painted coop. I will do it in the morning. Me and my brother picked up 3 more Plymouth Partrige Rocks tonight. I lost one to a neighbors dog this morning.Wow. That's better looking than a lot of homes I've seen. I don't know what color you're planning on painting it, but the current color looks really good with the white trim.
they are 13 1/2 inches wide, perfect for 16 inch on center studs. When I saw them on Craigslist, I knew I had to have them. The guy was not swift to emailing me back and it took me like 2 weeks to finally get them.how wide are your sidelights? Love your coop BTW
Sorry to hear that. The woman that i bought my Partridge Rocks today told me they lost 42 chicks, an Americauna and a couple ducks this week by a wandering beagle from down the street. I actually lost 2 chicks 7 days apart this past week from a neighbor cat and one of my Rocks went into the neighbors yard under the fence and got killed by their Setter. I have never lost a bird before and I lost 3 in 7 days. I busted the cat in the baby bin today when I was dumping grass clippings. I chased her out and now I have to trap it.I'm jealous. Wish I could let mine run free to do the yard work, but they wouldn't last a week up here in the mountains. Watched my neighbor's vanish in a matter of days.![]()
20 POUNDS!!! That is a big cat! He doesn't touch the chickens? We have a very predatory cat. It's great for keeping the rats and mouse population down but he also kills and eats squirrels, rabbits all kinds of birds and once he bought home (but did not eat) a full grown sea gull. He was born feral so keeping him inside is impossible but we have tired everything to slow him down. At the advice of our vet we have been free feeding him to reduce his prey drive. It backfired since his is a quick as ever and weighing almost 20 pounds he is now very strong. We trim his claws to the quick twice a month and he wears a giant (3 oz) brass bell on his collar and try to make sure he is indoors and locked in his crate at dawn and dusk, his main hunting times but he still hunts.
I know that he pisses some of my neighbors off but still I would be heart broken if someone killed him.
Thanks, Bro. Folks, he helped a lot and was always there when needed. Thank you again for all your help.Sal, it was an absolute blast helping with the coop!! But listen everyone ... Sal did 90% himself ... he is truly a picture of dedication and hard work ...
Kill that cat ... I believe he is the one that killed the other two...
