How cute! Great job on your hatch. I have some that started pipping last night. These will be my first. And I agree....what am I thinking hatching it the dead of winter?! I blame this on free time over the holidays googling eggs on ebay.....

It drove my husband bonkers when the Pharoahs slept on their backs like that. He kept reaching into the brooder to poke at them to see if they were still alive. They'd give him baleful looks for waking them then go back to sprawling out bonelessly.

It must be a (Male) thing. It irritated me for some time until I got used to it. They will also lay on their breast spread eagle with their feet in the air, as well as other contortions that makes them look like they are dead.

naw, I think that's it. I did open one that was cracked but it was weird.. it was like the egg was fossilized?? I stopped looking and threw them away. I did lose the last chick to hatch, he got run over my the rest of the stampeding herd overnight last night. So I have 29! waaaay more than I thought. They have finished off their first dish of food, si I made them another mash...the wetting down of their chow keeps the flinging of food down but they are poopers! I will clean them out when I get home today from work..
color count I have ten goldens, two or three tuxedos, two rosetta tibetians, and the rest are browns. I do find myself watching a lot of baby quail TV through the side of the tub.. they are soooo cute!
