Polycarbonate roofing panels cut easily with scissors. No foolin!

Metal panels either you use a skilsaw with appropriate blade (and good ear protection, and admire all the sparks!), or rent one of them power 'nippers' things, or do a rather raggedy job with the biggest heaviest tin snips you can buy (which is actually what I've usually done when I have to cut metal panels, but it is not really the best option)

Actually the smartest thing is to design the roof to use a full 8' or 12' length of panel, not only is it more economical b/c no waste but it is also obviously the lazy person's dream LOL

And you can finagle width issues by overlapping more than one 'overlap' if that will come out more appropriate to your structure's dimensions and you don't feel like making lengthwise cuts.

You can buy a "metal cut off blade" anywhere. they fit your skil saw. they have no teeth, create lots of sparks, especially around piles of dry sawdust. $6 last forever. hard to keep in line. Wear EAR protection.

for plastic corrugated panels one can use a "wood" skill saw blade, with as many teeth as possible (plywood or veneer blade) mount it backwards in the saw, support the panels with a solid surface. Wear EYE protection Don't apply more "down" pressure than necessary,

be sure to use the hex headed screws with the little rubber washers to attach either type. Screw into every 4th or 5 VALLEY across the sheet (use a string or chalk line) and don't tighten so tight as to cause stress or spider fractures in the plastic type.

Non-stop rain, t-storm and lighting. I couldn't step outside today let along do anything out there. Hubby even fed the chicks for me because I wasn't feeling well this morning.
The moving day has to be posponed to a later date.

Since waiting for the weather to clear up, there is not much to do other then think of a name for the coop.
My husbands stores name is Garden of Eden. Should it be something related to that such as; Garden of _____(something), or Flock eden ?
Or something like my sons name and their coop ?

I'm already selling the chickens and ducks eggs at his store.

They moved in, FINALLY

.
After a long chase, they are all in
big_smile.png
. I put 2 silkies in the broody coop because 1 silkie is going broody and didn't want her to be alone. The rest are all settled in.
I told hubby that we should put the chickens and ducks in the morning cause they can't wait to go outside to free-range and that they are hungry so they'll follow us. But hubby said we should put them in before it gets dark

. He understood I was right but it was too late, we got sticks in our hands chasing them away. Finally I got the fish net and got them one by one. I caught them and he carryed them as I was attempting to catch another. My pants were soaking mud not wet

. We are exhausted
th.gif
but some chickens already went inside the coop and roosting at the bar

. Without further or due, here are some pic's from today.
