Glad for Miss Lydia's presence and help here. No matter how much I have learned, I often feel concerned that I will miss something. Three brains are better than one. That assumes, of course, mine counts as a whole.

My biggest worry is flies. That's nearly 50F, and I would have little reservation with one other caveat - she's lost some feathers, yes? So she could maybe get a chill.
That would be not only uncomfortable, but could slow the healing process. And her appetite has been iffy, yes? That's a borderline decision. Go with your gut, but those are my hesitations, the flies and chills. At the same time, happier ducks are healthier ducks, seems to me.
Hmmm. Tough to decide.
Once the wounds close up I will relax about the flies, by the way. And at that point, for me it would be a matter of letting her out and watching her closely for any signs of chills - slowing down, really drowsy, shivers, scrunched neck.
I know the feeling.

Prayers
I will be away from the 'net for a while later this evening, myself. I worry about other people's duckies as well as my own sometimes. Just gotta keep doing what we can and let the rest go. Mercy. I think it is a sign of caring. Deep breath.
Thanks Amiga![]()
. I'm off to give cheese her penicillin shot, do up some dishes, make dinner, make cheese something to eat too, even though I doubt she'll eat it, and then get ready for work. Ugh if only I could bring her with me![]()
